How to find us
We are located in the heart of Chester city centre, on Bridge Street, where it crosses Pepper Street. Our location can be seen on the map at the bottom of the page.
10 minute walk from the bus station behind Chester Town Hall.
15 minutes journey from Chester Railway Station. Take the shuttle bus from directly outside the station entrance to the city centre (ticket £1). The museum is a 10 minute walk from the bus stop.
The nearest car parks are the Little Roodee Coach and Car Park and Pepper Street NCP.
Due to the historic nature of St Michael’s church there is, unfortunately, no access for wheelchair users. However, if notified in advance it will be possible to make other arrangements to see material that we hold. If you can not visit us in person, we can carry out research on your behalf.
There is no café in our building but there are many restaurants, cafes and bars nearby.
Our shop sells a range of Chester and history themed books and gifts.
