Cheshire Image Bank

The Image Bank is a collection of digital images of photographs, postcards, prints, slides and negatives, all related to Cheshire. Coverage is not confined to the current administrative county but includes anywhere that lies (or once lay) within the county boundary. The original sources are either held in the collections of The History Hub @ The Grosvenor Museum, in the collections held by Cheshire Archives and Local Studies, or they have been kindly loaned to us by our users.

Over 21,000 images can be viewed online and new material is regularly being added to the database. It is easy to search the site and you can also browse our “Popular Collections” sets. An ‘Add’ button next to zoomed images on the site lets you add any information you have about any of the images, or to correct any errors.

Copies of images from the collections can either be ordered on the Cheshire Image Bank website, or from The History Hub @ The Grosvenor Museum on 01244 972115 or chh@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk.
